Born in Romania, Dr. Tanasa graduated from Carol Davila University of medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. She trained for 5 years in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at I. Cantacuzino University Hospital in Bucharest before moving to the United States.

She completed internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, Englewood Program. After her training in internal medicine, she worked as an Internal Medicine physician in private and academic practice. She joined Emory University in 2009, where she held an academic appointment teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Tanasa completed her fellowship in rheumatology at Emory University and joined ARG in 2016.

She is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
She has a special interest in caring for pregnant women with autoimmune disorders.
She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and son.
