Medications prescribed by Arthritis and Rheumatology of GA, must be taken only in accordance with the instructions and dosage as prescribed by your physician.

Prescription requests are handled only during regular office hours.

We respectfully request that you contact your pharmacy first and ask that they send an electronic request for your refill. We must have your correct pharmacy information and insurance on file.

Once your Pharmacy has contacted us via an electronic request, we will promptly reply. However, if your refill requires that you have a current office visit or lab results on file and you have not been compliant, this may delay your request.

Every attempt to communicate with our pharmacies via the secure E-prescribe method is preferred. Should your pharmacy not participate in E-prescribe, we will fax your refill request.

Please make note that all medication refills should be handled at each of your office visits.
Be sure to specify if there is an emergency.

No narcotic pain medication prescriptions will be given when the office is closed. Also if you are a patient of a pain clinic, please contact your attending physician at that facility.

Please plan in advance:

1. Plan to have sufficient medication on hand when traveling or for weekends and/or holidays.
2. Our physicians share weekend and holiday call with other physicians. Please keep this in mind should you run out of your medication over the weekend, another physician is not obligated to refill this medication as they are only covering emergencies.

Please contact your physician or his physician’s assistant/nurse if you have concerns or questions regarding your medications and/or this policy.
